Canterbury Aero Club
Established in 1928 at Wigram airfield, the Canterbury Aero Club has a long and proud history of introducing people from all walks of life to sport and recreational flying. If you are interested in flying an aeroplane, getting your private pilot's licence, or going further, you can, at the Cantebury Aero Club.
Our Club is based at Christchurch International Airport and is New Zealand's largest Aero Club.
The facilities we provide to members are world-class and include our own private airfield at West Melton, for the exclusive use of members providing us with an area for training or flying, away from the busy commercial airport when necessary.
We also provide flying and flight training from Rangiora airfield in a more relaxed country environment.
Every day the Canterbury Aero Club offers passionate, highly skilled, professional Instructors and a substantial fleet of aircraft to teach people of all ages the skills to fly with confidence. The plains, mountains and wide skies are the breath-taking backdrop for this adventure.
